Configure User Authentication for Device Secure Printing
This task describes the procedure using Universal Print Driver operations as an example. The actual procedure may vary depending on the type of printer driver.

Right-click the icon of the printer to be configured, and then select "Printing preferences".

Click the [Others] tab.

Click [Printer Properties].

Click the [Advanced Options] tab.

Click [User Authentication].

Select [On] for "User Authentication", and then click [OK] twice.

Open the "Printing preferences" screen, and click [Authentication] on the [Basic] tab.

Select [Create Own ID] or [Windows Login Name] for [Login User Name].

When [Create Own ID] is selected, specify the user name and leave Password blank.

Click [OK] twice.
